On Friday morning, Joe Lara, best known for playing Tarzan, died when his plane crashed into a field near Santa Monica, CA. He was a well-known actor in Hollywood, and had several television and film credits to his name.

Joe Lara, a 66 year-old actor, passed away this morning after an airplane he was in crashed in the Guatemalan jungle. According to reports, Lara was traveling with his wife and three other people when the incident occurred. The plane, a Piper Cherokee, crashed in the Peten province of Guatemala. The crash is under investigation.

Joe Lara, best known for the movie Tarzan: Epic Adventure, has died at the age of 58, it has been revealed.

The actor was killed in a plane crash near Nashville on Saturday, along with his wife Gwen Chamblin Lara and five others.

At a press conference, Rutherford County Fire Department Captain Joshua Sanders said: We’re not… looking for live victims right now.

Other victims were named in the statement: Jennifer G. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters and Brandon Hanna, all of Brentwood, Tenn.

A private Cessna Citation 501 crashed around 11 a.m. in Percy Priest Lake, east of Nashville, shortly after taking off from Smyrna Airport in Palm Beach, Fla. The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation.

Joe’s wife, Gwen, was a well-known diet guru. She founded Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood in 1999 and used Bible studies to help people lose weight and quit smoking.

Joe, who was born in San Diego, California, is best known for his role as Tarzan in the 1996-1997 spin-off series. He also played an iconic character in the 1989 CBS television movie, Tarzan in Manhattan.

He has also worked as an actor: American Cyborg: Steel Warrior 1993, Steel Frontier, Warhead, Armstrong and Doomsdayer. In the early 2000s, Joe switched from acting to country music and released the album Joe Lara: A call for freedom in 2009.

Joe and Gwen had their own YouTube channel called Life with Gwen and Joe, where they told their fans about their relationship.

In a video released in May 2024, Joe said in an interview with Gwen: These days I want to be the best husband I can be, be a good husband to this amazing woman, stay close to God and try to enjoy each day as best I can.

With scenes of Joe flying in his private jet, Gwen said: It was beautiful. I can tell you that Joe is fickle, driven, goal oriented and when he wants to do something, he puts his heart and soul into it. …. If he stumbles, he gets back up and keeps going.

The couple married in 2018 and have two adult children from Gwen’s first marriage: Michael Chamblin and Elizabeth Hanna.
